SPARK is the name of our youth ministry. The name was chosen by the youth themselves as they wanted to be the spark that ignited the flame to reach our community for Christ. Our youth ministry has a three pronged approach and we plan our activities accordingly. We have 1/3 indoctrination. This is where we spend time making sure that they know the teachings in God’s word. We accomplish this through Sunday School, midweek bible studies, and various conferences. The next 1/3 is what we like to call inspiration. This is when we provide opportunities for the youth to serve others. This takes place in various ways and ranges from random acts of kindness to nursing home visits and anything in between. We believe that Jesus wants us to serve others so we try to instill this in our young people. The final 1/3 is simply recreation. That’s right…. sometimes we just like to hang out and play games! We fish together, shoot skeet, play basketball, video games, and rumor has it that golf and archery are in the future! The youth have chosen Mathew 5:16 as their theme verse. It says “In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” To sum it up… our youth want to Glorify God!
